| When you plan major upgrades, do you try to schedule them when traffic on your forum would be lowest? (For example, late at night.) Or do you schedule them for when it's most convenient for you? | |

| Umm, usually if I do something, I do it VERY early in the morning. | |

| Generally, I do them whenever I see fit. However, this is greatly dependent on the severity of the upgrade and how long it's estimated to take. For example: I'll be purchasing a dedicated server later on this evening, but I won't be migrating over until next Wednesday - I'd rather take the time to prepare for such a move as opposed to making hasty decisions and therefore causing further problems. If we're talking about a simple security update for a script, I'll do that immediately (usually). | |

| You don't warn them at all? I'd rather schedule a time for it then get panicked emails about it. | |

Usually when I take the board down it's very late for them, but early for me. |

I try to do my upgrades either on a Sunday luchtime (while most people are eating) or about 2AM when most of my members are in bed. I always warn them first though, just in case they panic.......LOL |

| I don't really schedule maintenance; I just do it when I'm ready and when I see fit. | Best Regards, Nick Support AdminAddict // Purchase from the following reputable vendors: HostGator / Liquid Web / DriveThruOnline - Professional vBulletin Products / NameCheap Domains Compare Hosting Plans VPS • Dedicated Servers ![]() | | |
