Default Returned email UnknownSender @ UnknownDomain

I asked this same question over at vbulletin.com a few days ago. I guess you have to pay for support now, because nobody has posted a reply. Either that, or nobody knows how to fix the issue.

vbulletin 3.8 - in admin control panel - email options - I'am using smtp email with my email server settings put in. Emails are being sent fine, butu some servers are bouncing the email because the senders domain can not be resolved - UnknownSender@UnknownDomain

How do I fix this?

In cPanel, create an email account - use that email account (username@yourdomain) for the email.

That is what I'am doing.

But for some reason time warner emails servers are bouncing the email saying its coming from UnknownSender @ UnknownDomain.

I aqlso had the hosting provider set up a PTR record, but nothing has changed.

Hmm..well, that worked for me, since I also use SMTP server options for my site. The only other thing I can say (if you said this above, I might have missed it) is that are you sending them from that email you created in cPanel? The settings in the vbOptions are one thing, but are you actually sending the emails from that email address in the mass email option?

I wonder if time warner email servers are having problems doing the name resolution of my email server? That might be an option.
