Check out:
Purchase vBulletin, the most powerful forum software available. Their home page was recently  restyled.

Now see the homepage of PHPFox:
phpFox - Social Networking Script

Did IB buy PHPFox as well or is there another reason for vbulletin looking like PHPfox or the other way around?

While the two pages are extremely similar, that is a pretty common layout for a website.

Very Similar, The most similar page imo is the Features page on vB and the pricing page on PHP fox

I read the phpfox homepage, but, slow as I am, I'm still a little confused about what it is. It's not an actual fully-packaged forum or site package, right? It's more of a major add-on for existing sites, like vBSEO? I initially thought it may be the former, but the phpfox forum looks like a vB, since it's using the "Element" style by vbstyles dot com.

Regards,

Kevin
