Best thing to do is work on the seo part of your site. Once your site is on good pages of the search engines people will find you and your site will have more activity.

You have to remember though, links come first.

Not neccesary true anymore. While links are important they are less important as they used to be. Search engines wouldn't even find your site if there wasn't a link on other sites. Now you can put a new site online and before you get the basic coming soon page up you're listed in them.

As long as you use Google webmaster tools and list your site, then sure. But, I stand by my statement, without links you won't be found so highly on the engines. Sure, you can have good content and people talk, but what about the extra traffic from the engines? You need links for that.

Links are good. It's escpecially good to cross link your content. The more links you have on your site to your content the better. That's why when I promoted all the articles to IP.Content left links in the theads.

I am finding that content is key. When members/guest genuinely enjoy your site, they come back and tell others to visit too.
